Privacy Policy

Simple Notes (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a personal productivity web application that allows you to create, organise, and sync rich-text notes. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect
When you sign in with a Google account, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. This information is stored in our Firebase database solely to identify your account and display your profile within the app. If you use the app without signing in, no personal information is collected.

Notes and Content
Notes, folders, tags, and attachments you create are stored securely in Google Firebase Firestore and Firebase Storage under your unique user ID. This content is only accessible to you when signed in, and to authorised administrators for support and moderation purposes.

Usage Data
We may store minimal metadata such as the date you last used the app and the device platform (e.g., Android, iOS, Web). This is used solely for administrative purposes and is never sold or shared with third parties.

Cookies and Local Storage
The app uses your browser’s localStorage to remember your preferences (such as theme and display settings) between sessions. No tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies are used.

Third-Party Services
Simple Notes uses Google Firebase for authentication, database, and file storage services, and is therefore subject to Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not use any advertising, analytics, or tracking networks.

Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at mvajid@gmail.com.

Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in Google Firebase with security rules that restrict access to your own data. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no system is completely secure.

Children’s Privacy
Simple Notes is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Terms & Conditions

By accessing or using Simple Notes, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before using the app.

Use of the App
Simple Notes is provided for personal, non-commercial use. You agree to use the app lawfully and not to misuse it in any way, including but not limited to attempting to gain unauthorised access, uploading harmful or illegal content, or interfering with the app’s normal operation.

User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access or security breach at mvajid@gmail.com.

Content Ownership
You retain full ownership of the notes and content you create. By storing content in Simple Notes, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and transmit that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

Premium Subscription
Certain features require a Premium licence. Payment is processed through PayPal. All sales are final unless otherwise required by applicable law. We reserve the right to modify pricing or features with reasonable notice.

Service Availability
We strive to keep Simple Notes available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend or discontinue the service at any time with or without notice, and we are not liable for any resulting loss or inconvenience.

Intellectual Property
All design, code, and non-user-generated content in Simple Notes is the intellectual property of its creator. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit written permission.

Disclaimer of Warranties
Simple Notes is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, secure, or fit for any particular purpose.

Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Simple Notes, including any loss of data.

Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE.

Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

AI Skills

The AI assistant can help you manage your notes hands-free. Just type naturally — here are some things you can ask it to do.

Creating & editing notes

Ask the AI to create a brand-new note, rename an existing one, or update its content. For example: “Create a note called Shopping List”, “Rename my Recipes note to Dinner Ideas”, or “Add a paragraph about hydration to my Fitness note.”

Organising with folders & tags

The AI can create folders, move notes into them, or remove notes from a folder. It can also add tags to any note. Try: “Create a folder called Work”, “Move my Meeting Notes into Work”, or “Tag my Travel note with holiday and 2026.”

Searching & reading notes

Ask the AI to find notes by keyword or show what a specific note says. Examples: “Search my notes for anything about dentist”, “What’s in my Grocery note?”, or “Show me the last note I created.”

Colours, favourites & stars

Change a note’s card colour, mark it as a favourite, or star it — all by just asking. For example: “Make my Ideas note green”, “Favourite my Journal note”, or “Star the note called Passwords.”

Archiving & deleting notes

Archive notes you don’t need right now, restore them later, or delete them. The AI can also restore a note that was accidentally archived. Try: “Archive my Old Recipes note”, “Restore Old Recipes from archive”, or “Delete the note called Draft.”

Hiding & locking private notes

You can ask the AI to hide (blur) a note’s contents, lock all hidden notes behind a PIN, or unlock them. For example: “Hide my Passwords note”, “Lock my hidden notes”, or “Unlock hidden notes.” (Requires Premium.)

App settings & appearance

The AI can switch the app between Light and Dark mode, toggle the weather widget, turn the wallpaper on or off, set a custom wallpaper from a URL, or open Settings for you. Just say: “Switch to dark mode”, “Enable weather”, or “Open settings.”

Bulk actions

Need to act on multiple notes at once? Ask the AI to move or delete a group of notes in a single request. For example: “Move all my recipe notes into the Food folder” or “Delete all notes tagged draft.”

Auto-fetch photos from Wikipedia

The AI can look up a relevant photo from Wikipedia and embed it directly in a note — no URL needed. Just mention a person, place, or subject: “Create a note about the Eiffel Tower and add a photo”, “Make a note about Taylor Swift with a picture”, or “Add a photo to my Golden Retrievers note.”

Set a custom wallpaper

Paste any public image URL and the AI will set it as your app wallpaper instantly. For example: “Set this as my wallpaper: https://images.unsplash.com/photo-abc123”. You can also ask the AI to turn the wallpaper on or off with “Enable wallpaper” or “Disable wallpaper.” (Requires Premium.)

Multi-step requests in one go

You can combine multiple actions into a single message and the AI will handle all of them in order. A few examples:

“Create a red note called Urgent Tasks with 5 things I need to do this week, put it in my Work folder, and mark it as favourite”

“Star my Budget note, move it to the Finance folder, and make it green”

“Create a note called Tokyo Trip 2026 in my Travel folder, write a 5-day itinerary, and make it orange”
